Topic: Unique Products and Solutions for Emerging Markets: Healthcare Wellness Surveillance
Peter Bechtel, President/CEO eCast Corporation Join Peter Bechtel as he discusses how to identify, conceptualize, test market and bring to production unique products and solutions for emerging markets. Mr. Bechtel will focus the discussion around the evolution of the Annual Wellness and Care Surveillance (AWACS) program that we currently market to thousands of physicians in the United States. www.awacs.md. Speaker Bio: Raised in the great State of Rhode Island Mr. Bechtel attended the US Air Force Academy from 1970-1974 and graduated with a BS in Computer Science in 1974. He flew aboard the C-130E Hercules from 1975 to 1980 and traveled extensively around the world as an officer in the US Air Force. Mr. Bechtel has spent the last 28 years in entrepreneurial activity focused on healthcare information technology. He was the Chairman and CEO of The Cactus Group selling its own medical billing software from 1984 to 1998. In 1999, he formed eCast Corporation for the purposes of creating web-based medical accounting and electronic medical records products for the emerging Internet market that fed data into a powerful clinical data repository (CDR). Subsequently, eCast expanded to provide Accountable Care Organizations with infrastructure and technology to achieve goals of measured savings. eCast also markets its proprietary Annual Wellness and Care Surveillance (AWACS) product to physicians around the United States. AWACS helps physicians provide the annual wellness visit to their Medicare patients and provide bulletproof documentation for Medicare. Mr. Bechtel has been an active volunteer with the Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) since its inception in 1982, and was the President of the CED in 1994. He serves as a mentor to children in Wake Country and is active with other volunteer organizations involving students and entrepreneurs. He plays lacrosse with adult lacrosse leagues in Raleigh, Florida, Rhode Island and Colorado. He loves to fly his airplane, a Piper Lance and enjoys fly fishing and playing blues lead guitar.
