Topic: Innovations in HealthIT
HealthIT is a hot spot of innovation this year. The changes being induced by targeted government investment have created a most dynamic marketplace for software systems that impact the care provided to patients. This session will provide an overview of the exciting developments in HealthIT being driven from North Raleigh at Allscripts. Get an overview of the changing landscape of electronic medical records and the next wave of technology sweeping through the health industry. Sam Christie is the VP of Product Technology, Chief Architect at Allscripts based on Six Forks road in North Raleigh. In this role he leads the product development team in defining best practices and applying the latest technology to meeting our customers HealthIT needs. He leads the team of architects across the broad Allscripts product portfolio. Sam joined Allscripts from Microsoft where he most recently served as the Senior Director of Architecture for MCS Global Practices. In that capacity he worked across 18 technical specialty teams to develop new software solution offerings. Sam received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Mathematical Economics from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana in 1983. He holds 24 US patents in software technology for communications and presence.
